About this camp

The Building Young Tech Engineers (BYTE) Academy is a hands-on summer program designed to introduce high school students to the fields of coding, microcontrollers, and electronic systems. Participants will explore how software and hardware interact to solve real-world problems, gaining a practical understanding of coding, circuit design, sensors, and microcontrollers. The program immerses students in software-hardware integration and engineering problem-solving. Students will learn to interpret and write basic Python and Arduino code, build functional circuits using components like breadboards, resistors, transistors, and LEDs, and analyze real sensor data. The academy culminates in students designing, building, and presenting their own Arduino-powered project, applying the engineering and coding principles learned throughout the week. Each participant receives an Arduino kit and additional sensors to continue their exploration after the program.

What a typical day looks like
